Introducing the MacBook!

I have had nary a moment to blog over the past few days but i have rectified that and i hope we are back to regular programming.

In other news:

We have a new member of the family! Owing to the entirely malicious destruction of the illustrated Power Supply, by a freak surge, for the much loved and overused MacMini, The Intelligensia decided to beef up its arsenal and became the proud new owner of the current MacBook. Yes nothing after it like Pro or shit like that. I have to be living in my own house before i can spring that much money for a piece of kit, no matter how fucking hot it is, and to imagine i tested a MacBook Pro 17before i took home the beauty i am introducing you to. I have a thing for petite, its a vicious pattern that i have been warned, will end in tears. Since i am not…compensating…for inadequacies, i am quite happy to be minimalist.

Taken out of its plastic wrapping…droool. Its a bloody good shot, if i do say so myself.

Specifications; oodles of powers. Lots of Gigahertzes and gigabytes, i understand that the more of them you have the quicker you can get the posts done and head over to funny stuff at lolcats among other unmentionable sites….

I wish i did the same for my mac mimi when i got it from the shop. I simply tore the packaging open, yanked out the computer, threw it out the window, unfortunately forgetting that the cabling was inside it and had to chase it down a few flights of stairs and wrestle the box from an irate caretaker who had been innocently been minding his own business attempting to read a past issue of readers digest when the missile, unannounced, glanced off his shiny head sending him scampering for safety under the nearest parked motor vehicle fearing the worst.

Smile for the camera, yesssss, a little to the left, chin up, there you go!

A little light reading, license bla bla…..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!

The older, my Toshiba A200-130 on the left and the new extremely cuuuute MacBook on the right…

A little to the right….perfect!!

The obligatory shot of the Microsoft XP SP3 installation that i did on it to test the capabilities of Boot Camp. Mac and WIndows in perfect harmony….bleh!!! I shall delete that partition the instant i reboot into Mac OS X Leopard. It is so fucking fast in XP i got whiplash, see the neck brace? No?

I am spectacularly chuffed that it works splendidly in Leopard, somehow i could not stand the XP bit in my Macintosh, no fucking way, the sacrilege! Bloody Windows on my Mac? Really? Why? Answer that at your own risk, i shall not be responsible for heads lopped off in a blind rage.

Any offers on the Satellite, it has to go!

I am happy for you, that’s how we Mac owners feel for other owners. The rest of ya’ll can take ya hateration and choke on it.

You have too many gombyootas. The specs on your new baby are too deadly!

am literally green with envy…apple macs are just sexy..gonna get me one of those someday. Also consider one of the HP Pavilllon series, good laptops, those ones. but stil out of my price range….for now.:-(

although at one point, one would have thought you were talking about a chick.

Kweli machines are the bane of your existence. i’ll hiold out for a macbook pro (black) in like 5 years time I hope

Just a question, can Mac OS X Leopard work on a kawaida comp/laptop (ie no Apple) ?

@Savvy: I agree, the HP Pavilion dv6000 series are off the hook! I’m saving up for one.

@Archer I have a DV6704 quite happy with it have set up a Vista/Ubuntu 8.04 dual boot and I’m quite happy Macbooks are over 100K so not urgently looking for one unless I get a generous donor

is it just me ama am reading twitteration now (12.23pm) and seeing u are basking? kwani ur office is literally an open space?

    @kirima @ archer

    Eh, Three…

I can see my competition now… Damn, this is not good for me.

Waaay over my head here. But that lappie looks cute. And it’s white too. I want one. Don’t know what it does and what a Leopard is but I want it. Now to convince my tech savvy boo with quotes from this post . . .

Now i know what you were drooling about the other day!!!

Alafu akina Archer, Kirima & savvy hizo ni nini mnasema hapo juu (pointing)…. windows is OK for me….. me thinks

Hmmm…..’I want one’ is not a phrase that I shall utter in connection to laptops and or such like gadgets, so me no drooling. Now, if it were shoes…hehe.

I maintain still, your living room has too many gadgets. Can think of a thing or 10 that can fill the space. He he. I meant shoes :)

Okay, I’m not a Mac fan, so I can’t relate that way. But I can relate in terms of a piece of technological marvel. I’m sure my post when I eventually acquire Ramon shall be very similar to this!

    Nice machine!
And yeah, Windows on a Mac is a straight no-no.

@Kirima: The dv6704 is the precise one I want! But locally it’s retailing at 99,000 bob, (costs half of that on the net) I might just buy the dv6604, throw in an extra 1GB RAM and voila! dv6704!!

@Archer 99K hapana try davetech they have it for far much less but its AMD 64 which is no big deal since I don’t worship at Intels feet

wow, pretty. does she do any tricks?

I want one of those! Sooo cute.

Had no idea that Tandra was a hater…
    None at all….

    but dawg 3.
That Macbook does have a certain thang about it!

    Good purchase huh!

how could you defile such a machine with windoze? tsk tsk tsk

I’m selling a kidney for a macbook pro. MacBook Pro or die trying!!!

She is so pretty! I seriously need to consider her, especially now that I carry around a 4kg Gateway. You’ve educated me hapo. Didn’t know you could use madirisha with apple comps.
